director of Athletics
provides leadership for the university's 16 intercollegiate
sports. Competing in Division I of the NCAA, Oakland is a member
of the Mid-Continent Conference. The department maintains a
strong commitment to academic integrity and student-athlete
welfare, while serving as a source of institutional/community
pride and alumni re-entry to campus activities. |

general counsel and secretary to the Board
of Trustees is a member of the President's Cabinet, represents
the interests of the university on all institutional legal matters,
provides legal counsel to the Board of Trustees and president,
and organizes meetings of the Board of Trustees and other board-related
activities. Zambardi manages the Office of General Counsel and
Board of Trustees. The General Counsel's office also is responsible
for the Office
of University Diversity and Compliance, which addresses
questions and concerns regarding equal employment opportunity
and affirmative action in employment at Oakland University |

Office of Government
Relations monitors state activity such as legislation, executive
orders, and rules and regulations, and informs the president
and others about the impact that activity might have on the
university. The office also is charged with influencing the
outcome of various executive and legislative actions and representing
the university's interest to members of these branches of government
and responding to their constituency concerns involving the
university. |

Communications and Marketing (UC&M) is a proactive,
strategic partner in providing counsel and support to advance
the university's 2010
vision while sending significant and consistent messages
to internal and external audiences. UC&M strategies help
to increase student enrollment, alumni participation, donor
involvement and university visibility.
UC&M
centralizes marketing, advertising, communications and media
relations activities across the university and creates major
university publications, including OU
Magazine and The
News @ OU. UC&M supports university units in producing
marketing-related Web sites, informational and promotional
communications, and marketing and advertising campaigns. UC&M
also is responsible for creating and maintaining the university's
graphic identity program and editorial style guidelines.

University Foundation leads a comprehensive advancement
program for the university through oversight of the offices

University Foundation, a private, nonprofit corporation
that provides financial support and advice to the university. |

information management office assistant serves as the receptionist
for the Office of the President, maintains a complex filing

Spencer
is responsible for OU INC operations, policies, finances, fund
development and general administration. OU INC manages and operates
the Oakland University SmartZone Business Incubation program
by providing start-up, emerging and accelerated enterprises
with a supported step into managed technology transfer and the
commercialization-leasing environment. |
|
|
The
Department of Internal Audit independently examines and evaluates
university activities as a service to the president and Board
of Trustees. The department provides analyses, appraisals, recommendations
and evaluations of internal controls to assist members of the
university in the effective discharge of their responsibilities.
Findings are reported to the Board of Trustees and senior management. |
